Photoshop CS5.1 Version 12.1 runing on 32bit XP home platform will crash. The program is unusable. How do you role back the downloaded update? This is a bad update....

There is no update, 12.1 is the latest version.
And most likely you're crashing in a driver, not in Photoshop itself.

Do you have the details of the crash, including the name of the faulting module?
And when does it crash?

My guess would be that have a outdated video card driver. Determine what video card you have and go directly to the manufacturers website (nVidia or ATI/AMD) and download the latest driver.

This issue is solved by updating the video driver.
