This conversation has been merged. Please reference the main conversation: Lightroom: Why do I get the "file could not be moved to recycle bin" error message when deleting pictures

When I have several pictures marked as ‘rejected’ I delete them all by pressing Ctrl + Backspace (Win7, 64-Bit).

Quite often – but not always – the last picture is not deleted.

Instead I get the message “The file xyz could not be moved to the Recycle Bin.” I hit Ctrl + Backspace again and this picture is deleted without problem.

The pictures and the Lightroom catalogue are on an external USB-Harddisk.

Try emptying the associated recycle bin.

Thank you!
I'm not sure yet because I have to test this for some time - but at the moment it looks like your tip is working!

After trying to delete files for some more days I have to say: Emptying the recycle bin does not solve the problem. I still get the message that a file could not be deleted.
