Lightroom: Keyboard shortcuts on non-Latin keyboards

I'm using Lightroom CC on a mac and have two keyboard layouts: English and Russian. Unfortunately, keyboard shortcuts only work on the English one, which is not surprising, but still quite inconvenient. It becomes difficult to be productive, especially when you work with face recognition, i.e. have to use Shift+O to start editing a name, then type a name itself and then press Esc and Shift+O at some point again. Switching back and forth between the two languages becomes frustrating after a short while.

A lot of software is perfectly able to handle keyboard shortcuts on both layouts, that includes Photoshop CC. I can enable the brush tool not only with B, but also with Russian ‘И’ and so on :-)

It would be nice if Lightroom was also smart on converting keyboard strokes into actions, and not only for the Russian keyboard. As a software developer, I can say that it's not too difficult after all. You have millions of users for whom English is the second language – I'm sure they will be grateful once you do the fix.

Hope to be heard! :-)

P.S.: I was hitting “Profanity is not allowed” message for about 15 minutes wondering how else I can be more gentle, but at the end it turned out that instead of ‘Shift’ there was simply some other very similar word!

This is very old trouble. Could you please take a look at it one more time? We don't need workarounds, we need a real fix. I don't know any other application with such behaviour (incl. Photoshop). Pleeeease fix it.
