I often select all photos in lightroom in order to find a particular photo or set of photos with a keyword or filename.   It would be GREAT to have a keyboard shortcut to do this.

Ctrl-A on a PC, Cmd-A on a Mac. Or do you mean going to the All Photographs collection?

I mean going to All Photographs.   Ctl-A will just get the current folder.

Indeed, Ctrl-A. But, for me, that would result in far more than 30.000 photo's in total... Why not filter your catalog view using the backslash (\) key??

In library mode, select by clicking on the right arrow of the keyword in the list of keywords, and then ctr / cmd A to select all the images found in the previous selection!

It's very easy, no ?

Like Johan and Ruurd say CTRL (/CMD) + A.

Clicking on the arrow next to a keyword (on the right) will show all images with that keyword.
And using smart collections with filename or keyword will also work on all images (unless there is a filter like a source (folder/collection), label color or star rating, etc.).
So why do you want to select all photos if not with CTRL + A?

As Yves indicated, you can show all photos containing a keyword with these steps:

1. In the Keyword List panel, type the keyword you want in the search box.

2. Hover the mouse to the right of the keyword and click the right-arrow. This will automatically select All Photos and then filter those photos by exactly that keyword:
