Key-wording Issues

When I have imported photos from CC Classic to CC the photos have been keyworded with the following: "TK#_??_keep" where ?? changes with every photo. There doesn't appear to be a way of deleting all the keywords other than to select each one individually and delete the keyword; which isn't great for over 6,000 photos.

Please help :)

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "imported photos from Classic to CC", perhaps you could clarify? Nevertheless, the keywords are likely embedded in XMP (either directly in the files in the case of DNG, JPG, PSD, TIF, or in XMP sidecars in the case of proprietary Raw files). As each keyword is different then you are correct that there isn't an easy way to delete them all.

How you might deal with the issue really depends on how they were added to LRCC (sync or direct import), and what filetype they are. Perhaps you could let us know.

Hi Jim, thanks for answering my plea for help.

I converted my catalogue from the previous version of lightroom. I used to store all my photos on an external drive but changed over to the cloud based CC. It seems to have got rid of any keywords I did have and has replaced them with the above. Just a single keyword or tag as it is in CC now.

I’ve used Lightroom for years now and to be honest not really used keywords much (bad I know) but used to use the gps and face recognition in the last version of lightroom, have these somehow corrupted on conversion?

Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated.

Well, if you used the catalog migration tool, then it should have brought over any existing keywords. GPS data and any location data should also have transferred cleanly, and any face regions in the catalog should have been converted and appear in a separate "People" section in the Info panel for each image.

So I can't imagine where those keywords are coming from, if they weren't already in the migrating catalog. Will need Adobe engineering to weigh in on this, I think.

Color label seems to be the only tag which migrator will be adding, in addition to the already existing keywords. The keyword you are talking about doesn't look like a label. Could you please export one such photo from LrClassic(  in original format with all keywords ) and send it to me( I will be contacting you offline ). I believe it has to be in the xmp itself.
