Howdy Eric,

You are correct: the latest version of Photoshop does indeed have a bug in kerning transformed text. It does not, however, impact non-transformed text. We're sorry for the inconvenience and are actively working to have a solution soon.

One thing that might help in the meanwhile would be to keep in mind that transforming text by a very large number also affects the kerning. If you only make minor adjustments, you are unlikely to get the application stuck in an error state.

Thanks,
David

thanks David for the response. your right about when i try to kern by a large amount it gets a lil crazy but even when i do by a small amount even as small as 70 it will jump to a large number and give me an error .hope this can be fixed soon. I also have a problem with brush resizing . when ever i want to resize a brush rather it be in any of the tools if i get to small the brush will disappear . if i click off screen the brush will reappear but its still an inconvenience .

Howdy Eric,

I am actually not allowed to comment on WHEN stuff is released, but I am allowed to share that we're actively working on a solution; this was actually an 11th hour widget bug which caught us totally by surprise. You can see a more detailed discussion at http://feedback.photoshop.com/photosh...

With regard to the problem you're having with brushes, I would start a new thread. Unfortunately, that's not one of my areas of expertise and it would be good to clearly state the problem in a separate thread so issues don't get muddled and so the engineers working on those features can give you feedback.

Thanks,
David

Okay, I can finally post this:

We have made many fixes to the behavior of transformed text and they are now available in the latest release, Photoshop 14.1, which you can download RIGHT NOW. I will acknowledge, there are still a few lingering issues to resolve, but for most users, these fixes should handle their problems. We felt it was better to get a partial fix out now than a perfect fix in the future. We are still planning additional improvements for a coming release.

If you are still struggling with problems, by all means let us know so we can make sure we address them.

Thanks and enjoy!
David

This was fixed a year ago in Photoshop CC 14.1 and in all later releases.
What version are you using?

Hi Lois,

Have you updated to the latest version of Photoshop?  If so, this problem should be gone.  If it's not, please contact me here and I'll be happy to get to the bottom of the issue with you.

Thanks,
David
