Hello, I updated my Photoshop CC 2019 version to 20.0.1 yesterday and I've been having issues. It keeps causing Kernel Panic and crashing my Mac Book Pro over and over again. this only occurs when using Photoshop. After effects and Illustrator work fine.  I've only had this problem after updating PS yesterday. Any ideas why this is happening? I dont get error messages or crash reports or anything I can send directly to apple or adobe.

Im on a Mac Book Pro 15" (2010), 8GB of RAM, Intel i7 CPU, running MacOs Sierra (10.12.6)

All Ive done when in photoshop is duplicate this pattern. Literally ever time I attempt to duplicate some polka dots my hole computer suddenly fails and restarts. Its just a 1920 by 1080 document, and is only 2.5 MB.

My 2012 iMac was doing the same. Adobe and Apple each said it was tge others fault. Ended up with new iMac.

A system hang or freeze requiring a computer restart usually means a low level failure such as a driver (bad video card driver, etc), failing hardware (hard disk, video card, etc.) or damaged OS installation.

You could try bypassing the graphics card/driver by going to Preferences > Performance... and uncheck Use Graphics Processor. Restart Photoshop.
