LIGHTROOM - Keep photo in "Unedited" Smart Folder when editing until I move to another photo

I have a Smart Folder called "Unedited". When I start editing new pics in that folder they immediately disappear from the folder when I make my first edit. Aperture keeps the photo which I am working on in a similar Smart Album as long as I move to another photo. This makes more sense to me. I can do my edits and not just the first one.

What I need to do is crop 3:2, adjust exposure, level horizon etc. I can do those one after another if I can keep the pic in my hands until I am happy with the result and move to another photo. Then it is fine that the Smart Folder updates and removes my edited photo. But not when I am obviously not done with editing as I have not chosen another photo to deal with.

Others have asked for this in the past, though I can't find their feedback in this forum.

As a mildly inconvenient workaround, you can quickly capture the current results of the Unedited smart collection:

1. Do Edit > Select All.
2. If the Quick Collection isn't empty, do File > Clear Quick Collection.
3. Do Photo > Add To Quick Collection.
4. Click on Quick Collection in the Catalog panel on the left.

(See the menus for the keyboard shortcuts in your language.)
