When tagging words i LR you can't "jump" word wise to write in between to allready written words with [ctrl+shift+(left or right arrow)] as one normally can do in any text in other MS-apps.
Is it a "function" or a bug?
It's bugging me anyway :)

It isn't completely clear where you are typing this combination, and what you expect to happen.

But on Windows 7, Control-shift-arrow in either of the active Keyword input areas highlights successive words to the left or right of the existing cursor position. (Where a "word" is defined as a series of alphanumeric and punctuation characters surrounded by whitespace.)

I think this behaviour is standard for Windows, but is controlled by the operating system.

Windows normal behaviour is:

  • CTRL+RIGHT ARROW:
Move the insertion point to the beginning of the next word

  • CTRL+LEFT ARROW:
Move the insertion point to the beginning of the previous word

  • CTRL+SHIFT with any of the arrow keys:
    Highlight a block of text

CTRL+RIGHT ARROW / CTRL+LEFT ARROW does not work this way in LR in a text field (i.e. keyword entry), because those are the shortcuts for "Next selected photo" / "Previous selected photo" in LR.

I guess the basic question should be:
Should LR shortcuts work while the focus is in a text entry field?

Yes BG!
Sorry for the confusion JV and everyone else.
It was meant to be just [CTRL + ARROW]
(I use ctrl+shift+arrow when highlighting text because it's faster)

And yes again! :)
Thanks for understanding and explaining BG.
'Should LR shortcuts work while the focus is in a text entry field?' ..is the right question!
