Lightroom: Jumping between Bridge while using stars and labels

My workflow draws heavily on the use of both LR and Bridge, working in tandem. Part of that workflow includes using stars and colors in LR to help organize my images. Then I export the selected images as DNGs to a folder on my hard drive, ready to renumber in Bridge. The problems are two fold with this process. For some reason, when I export from LR to Bridge, Bridge shows the stars created in LR but not the colors. When I organize the images in Bridge, I then have to "re-color" every image. Once renumbered and recolored, I export the DNGs back to LR. Now LR doesn't recognize the colors created in Bridge, only the stars. Seems crazy that two Adobe products that are created to work together don't completely recognize each other.

The other thing that seems odd is that to color an image in LR requires only the number. For example 6 is red. But to make an image red in Bridge requires Command 6. Why can't the commands could be the same for the different applications, since, they are intended to work together? Thanks.
