Jump layer to specific artboard, bug

Problem: If you have document1 open with multiple artboards on it, and you have an image in document2 open, jumping a layer from document2 to a specific artboard in document1 only works if the layer in document2 is not a locked background layer.  If the layer in document2 is a background then no matter what artboard you select to jump the layer to in document1, it will not only go into the wrong artboard but it will be significantly offset from the center of the artboard.  Selecting different artboards has no effect.

Solution: Unlock the background layer in document2 before jumping the layer to document1 and selecting a specific artboard. The layer will jump to the selected artboard and be centered on the artboard as expected.

This happens in Photoshop 19.1.1 release

Awesome! I was just about ready to give Artboards the wave goodbye! There's some crazy behavior in that workspace.

I’m building a whole chapter in my new Photoshop for Teaching and Learning course on Lynda.com / LinkedIn learning (should be out later this spring) that uses Artboards as core to one of the workflows. They do work, but yeah a little buggy here and there. This bug is one that stumped me last night and figured it out this morning so figured I’d share it here to keep others from loosing as much hair over this as I did.
