Lightroom: Ability to merge videos

I do not shot a lot of videos, mostly short clips of kids and family, so I prefer to not use sophisticated video editing. So it would be great if I could use Lightroom not only to trim and adjust videos, but also to merge multiple videoclips together to one. No need for fancy transition effects, perhaps just a couple of fade alternatives or something like that.

I oppose this request on the following ground.

Slideshow needs some attention. This module has been largely neglected since LR 1. One of the many things it needs is the ability to handle video clips. If it could, you could easily set up a preset that had zero-time transitions and full-screen for video, and just drag, drop, and export for doing what you want.

What I don't want is a separate feature just for merging video clips. I want a comprehensive upgrade to the Slideshow module that would do this as an inherent capability of the upgrade.

I see your point, but your suggestion means that in order to have a merged video inside LR, I would need to first create a slideshow, then add the videos and export the result which again have to be imported into LR to be viewed. And then I will end up with to or more original videos pluss the merged video. If I then decide to make any adjustments to the originals, I would have to go through the process again.
