Lightroom: Issues with DNG Flat Field Plug-in

Hello,
I am using the DNG Flat Field Plug-in for Adobe Lightroom.
It has worked flawlessly for since January, but now I'm getting errors, when I try to apply it.
I have already tried to reinstall the plugin, but this does not solve the issue.

I get the error message, attached below.
The error only occurs, when GPS data is attached to the dng files. As the plugin was last updated 2013, I think, there's a incapability causing this issue.

As this plugin is necessary for people using technical cameras like me, it would be great if you could update the plugin, so that it works without hassle with the Lightroom CC 2015.
Maybe you could also code the feature inside of Lightroom.

Thanks very much!
Kind regards, Sebastian

Could you post an affected file that reproduces the error?

Can you use Creative Cloud or Drop box?

Hi Sebastian. We were able to reproduce the error internally (it does appear to only impact files that contain GPS data). I've filed a bug so we can get it fixed - thanks for bringing the issue to our attention.

I too would like to be able to use this. I am getting "No calibration images detected!" When using as interleaved. Converted to DNG for NEF with Raw embedded. Will try with non raw embedded.

Confirmed, will not work with RAW embedded on my end. Otherwise fine.

This issue should be resolved now in yesterday's release of Lightroom CC2015.6/6.6 - see the release notes here: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2016/06/lightroom-cc-2015-6-now-available.html

I am liking the new features, and the revamped transform is in the right direction! Back to flat field, I am wishing there was a way to apply the field with out creating a new file. I make panos with a shift lens, and really use the FF (or LCC in another program) so its way too many files to keep and keep track of. Especially in a production environment.

Hello, i'm using flat field and getting all the time the message " No Calibration images detected", i'm working with a Phaseone P30 who is making .TIF files , i'm converting them with DNG Converter without to embed Them but in LR CC 6.6  it is always the same message. I really don't know what to try next.
Any ideas ?
Many thanks for your answers
Philippe

Phillipe, would you be willing to share with us one of your images that yields the error? You can send it via a Creative Cloud shared folder, Dropbox or similar.

Hi Phillipe,

I've confirmed that the Flat Field plug-in is not auto-detecting your calibration image (after conversion to DNG) when using the "apply interleaved correction" menu command. I was however able to apply the correction using the "apply external correction" command and choosing the calibration image manually. We will look into the issue concerning auto-detection, but in the meantime, you may want to try using the "apply external correction" command as a workaround.

Hello, I also have a problem with DNG flat field plugin in LR 4.4 There is a message during attempt to use external correction:"Could not apply flat field correction to the following photo..." Here you are with the links to the dng files.

Interleaved correction doesn't work too (message "No calibration image detected").
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi.
I ́m having the same problem as above. Using a technical camera with a Hasselblad back. Used to work fine just a week ago to correct my dng ́s both interleaved and with external correction. Now no external corrections work anymore. I ́m on Mac10.11.5 and LR2015.6.

Would be great if you could implement this plugin into LR in future release since many Technical Camera users rely on this plugin preferably also with a shortcut command. Thanks!

Tried with a new reinstall of LR and the plugin on my MacPro which is on OSX 10.11.6. Didn ́t solve it. However the plugin works fine on my laptop which still is on OSX10.11.5. I guess the problem arise when I upgraded OSX. Please check if that is the case. Thanks!

Still doesn ́t work after upgrade to Lightroom 2015.7
Flatfield correction with "apply external correction" still gives the same error as above. I tried different computers and different images. Please make this work! Thanks.

Hi Stefan,
The bug report for this issue is still open. It was pushed out of the 6.7 update due to time constraints and is currently slated to be fixed in the next release. I have reminded our devs to prioritize the fix and apologize for the inconvenience.

I waited and waited, but finally gave up this, bought a Phase One back and switched to Capture One where LCC calibration works perfect.

doesnt work in LR CC. it renames the flat image to *_ff.dng but thats about it. shooting at 1.4 so falloff is heavy. on some test images i see about 1-5% improvement on falloff but still nothing close to flat.
