Photoshop CC 2019: Issue with Layer Styles preview rendering

See the screenshot below. I opened the same file on CC 2018 (19.1.6) on the right and Photoshop CC 2019 (20.0) on the left. The layer styles used on the shape layers have a strange green/cyan overlay preview artifact on CC 2019. The issue happens when working with styles "live" only. The issue does NOT effect if the layer is rasterized or if the image is flattened or exported as a JPG. This makes applying layer styles while working a serious issue as I can't really see what I am doing in real time. For now, I am working in CC 2018 for projects that need layer styles.

I am on a Mac running OS 10.13.3 (iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) with 32GB ram).

Help?

Hi,
We are so sorry for your experience.  We are working on a fix for this issue.  By any chance are you working with Image -> Mode -> 16 Bits/Channel ?

In the meantime, can you try enabling Preferences -> Performance -> "Legacy Compositing" checkbox and see if that fixes your problem?

Thanks for the reply. I have tried both 8 and 16bit and the issue is the same in both.  Legacy Compositing fixes it. And toggling the option on and then off etc turns the preview issue on and off etc.

One thing I just discovered is if I open an old file saved on a previous version of Photoshop (like CC 2018) in Photoshop CC 2019 and then do a Save As and give it a new name. When opened again in CC 2019 the issue is gone. This is with the Legacy Compositing "unchecked". So it seems once an old file is "saved as" a new cc 2019 file the issues goes away.

I plan to use this "save as" trick for now and leave the Legacy Compositing "unchecked".

im on  an 27inch iMac late 2012 using  mac os high sierra .Also, drop shadows don't look very smooth even when i make a new file from scratch they are very hard edged. the only things that seems to work for the drop shadows and my old file that im opening in this new version of photoshop, is  checking the Legacy Compositing
