... i haven't found it so far.

it would come really handy (and save some) time to flip some pictures QUICKLY to and fro, finding out the best effect in a bigger context, like in a collage, etc.

thx a million!

On Windows, Ctrl+Shift+H flips horizontally, Ctrl+Shift+V vertically.

For some reason, on Mac there don't appear to be shortcuts assigned to Photo > Flip Horizontal and Photo > Flip Vertical. But you can assign shortcuts for these commands using System Preferences > Hardware > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Application Shortcuts. Click "+", for Application select Lightroom 3 or 4, for Menu Title enter "Flip Horizontal", and for Keyboard Shortcut type Cmd+Shift+H.

But on Windows, Ctrl+Shift+H switches tool overlay (develop) and extra infos (grid view), and Ctrl+Shift+V is "paste develop settings" (seems to be the same in most of the languages).

Did you modify your resource strings? Because there are two entries for flipping [CORRECTION: There are some more, different for library and develop, I don't know why there are entries for "ImageContext", though - shortcut keys don't make sense for a context menu]:
...and they seem to be empty in most of the languages. This is also a possibility to customize lightroom keyboard shortcuts - however, I don't remember how to do that for the default language English...

P.S. Another standard method to reach those commands quickly using the keyobard is to use the standard windows menu shortcuts, which depend on the language (and maybe on the LR version). For instance, for English Alt+P+H+H+Enter (P = Menu "Photo", unfortunately, 'H' is used twice in the photo menu), and Alt+P+V. Or Alt+F+H and Alt+F+V for German.

Ack, you're right, I completely forgot that I had modified TranslatedStrings.txt, answering the identical question for someone else two weeks ago!

To summarize the options for keyboard shortcuts for the flip commands:

- On Mac, use the Mac's System Preferences to define a keyboard shortcut.

- On Windows, use the standard Windows method of keyboard shortcuts, e.g. ALT+P H in Library mode, ALT+P H H ENTER in Develop mode.

- On Mac or Windows, edit the TranslatedStrings.txt file, which you can learn about via the forum post linked above.

- Use the Keyboard Tamer plugin to edit TranslatedStrings.txt for you. Its Web page says that it's for LR 3 -- no indication of whether it works for LR 4:
