Is there a way to recover grouped layers deleted accidentally upon saving as "JPEG" instead of PSD?

I had a PSD file with 10 groups inside, and I saved it accidentally as JPEG instead of PSD, then I deleted those layers because I thought I did save it as PSD!

I also closed the file...(idiot, I know)...

I am on a Mac if that matters....
Is there any way to recover the groups I deleted?

Thank you,

No, there is not - because the JPEG has no information about layers.

Grrr...

I figured...
I redid most of them earlier out of memory. Wish there was a way to recover them tho.

Only if you saved to a PSD or other file format that supports layers.

Photoshop makes automaticaly backup during the work. I am not sure where are these files physicaly located and when Photoshop removes these files. Maybe something like Recuva could found these deleted files, if were created and removed. https://www.piriform.com/recuva

Edit: location in Windows is c:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2015\AutoRecover\
