I am looking for a way to place multiple images into a Photoshop document at the same time. When going under File > Place Embedded... I can only select one image (Shift or Cmd +click don't work to select multiple files). So when I have to place 20 items in one go for example, to create a grid, I have to manually select each item and go through the Place process for each of them.

In InDesign, under (roughly) the same menu, there is an option to select multiple items at the same time, and place them all in one go, saving a lot of time. Any chance there is a way to do this in Photoshop already? Or could this be a feature to be added in the future?

The only way to do that right now is to select multiple files in the Finder/Explorer and drag them into an open Photoshop document.

you can use Bridge to place multiple SO's... drag and drop for Embedded, or OPT/ALT drag for linked.
