Lightroom 7.5: Is there a limit on the display of Point Curve Presets in the Tone Curve module? (macOS)

I have nine Point Curve presets loaded into the Tone Curve module of LR CC 7.5. Adding additional presets in the Curve folder of Camera Raw, where the initial 9 are stored, does not permit me to display all 20 in the pull down menu. All xmp files work as presets and alter the Tone Curve. So there is no doubt they written as presets. Below  are screen shots of the Curves Folder containg all the presets and the resultant display in LR.

Here is the display in LR

Grateful if someone can let me know if there is a limitation in the OSX version because a fellow LR user WobertC on the LR Classic Board is running LR on Windows and does not appear to have that limitation.

I am not seeing this on Mac OS 10.13.6 on Lightroom Classic CC 7.5  You might try resetting your preference file and see if that cures it.

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.
2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
4. Close Lightroom.
5. Restart Lightroom.

Does the behavior continue after resetting the preferences?

Thank you for your suggestion.

I followed your instructions exactly.  The behavior continues as before.

Thoughts?

My next suggestion Stephan is that perhaps those Tone Curve presets are not formed correctly. I notice that in Finder, that the missing items have different icons.  Would you be willing to send me one of the missing XMP files so that I could test it?

Hi Rikk,

I am more than happy to send you a couple of the Tone Curve presets. When I load the set of which these two are part, copies of two which I will include for you, they appear no problem. It is when I place all of them (those which I have had for sometime and use most frequently in the Curves Folder that only nine appear in LR in alphabetic order.  So, there is a smattering of each set in the list in LR.

Here are two of the xmp files

Digital Meadow: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yyfe37i24oeblg0/Digital%20Meadow.xmp?dl=0

Please let me know that you were able to download the files.

Very grateful for your help.

No problem seeing them here, Stephan. They work so they are probably OK.

Since we are only seeing this on your machine, I am going to recommend a preference file refresh.

A Preference File will survive a Lightroom uninstall/reinstall. Sometimes weird behavior is corrected/cured by resetting the preferences.

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.
2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
4. Close Lightroom.
5. Restart Lightroom.

Does the behavior continue after resetting the preferences?

Strike this - you've already done this.

Rikk,

I did this already as it was the first thing you suggested I do. And, the result was as I described above.

What has you think that another go at this process of resetting will remedy the problem?

Thank you,

My apologies, Stephan, I did indeed already recommend that. You should not need to do that again. Silly question but is that Tone Curve Preset Pulldown scrollable?

No worries.

I just loaded the second set of presets in to the Curves Folder to test whether the Tone Curve Preset Pulldown is scrollable and I can report that it is not scrollable. Once again I have a blend of the two groups of presets in alphabetic order but not the totality of the presets that are in the Curves Folder.

Is there some checkmark that I can alter to make it scrollable?

Thank you!

There isn't an option to turn on or off scrolling, I was just curious.

What is your current display resolution?  The Macbook on which I am testing is hooked up to a external display at 2560x1440. I would be interested in the display resolution on your setup.
