Not entirely, due to bugs in the video card drivers on MacOS 10.10, plus other general OS bugs in MacOS 10.10.
Apple is aware of these OS bugs, and still working on solutions.

If you disable GPU usage in Photoshop, don't show rulers on the image, and don't show the histogram palette - then it is usable. Otherwise we have to wait for Apple to release OS fixes for the various OS bugs.

Many thx...how about the regular 27" iMac, does it also have bugs in the video card drivers?

It doesn't have as many of the video driver bugs, but still has 70% or so of them.

The Retina is just the worst case, due to a higher resolution == more pixels to draw. And each slowdown gets multiplied by the number of pixels being drawn (to a first approximation).

So, if I use photoshop and several plugins for editing photographs only, will these bugs really interfere with my work flow ( with the iMac)

If you don't disable the GPU, then yes they can interfere with your work.
If you do disable GPU usage - then the MacOS 10.10 bugs are less frequent (still odd bugs in the OS open/save dialogs, plus some crashing OS bugs waiting for Apple fixes).
