Photoshop: Is it possible to remember multiple file locations (one for opening, one for saving)?

It may be just me  but I would love it if Photoshop could remember one location for opening files and a different one for saving files.
At the moment, after I save a file, I have to go raking through my hard drive to find the next image I wish to open, even though it is in the same folder as the previous image I opened a few moments previously.

Am I alone in this or am I missing something obvious?

Saving shortcut alias (favorites) in the save dialog is your best bet.

If you're simply processing images (converting PSDs to JPEGs for example), you can use image processor and specify an input and output folder, and save presets.
