Is Auto Save not working or what? I am using Photoshop CC. I worked on a file for several hours yesterday. I thought I had saved, but I guess i didn't. I left the file open and went home. This morning when I came in Adobe had closed all my programs to do an update to the software. When I opened Photoshop nothing had been saved to the file, and there was so recovered version available either. Auto Save is set to every 10 minutes, but I got nothing. What's going on? Why didn't AutoSave kick in? And why is Adobe closing my programs without my permission and without saving anything?

Please don't say I need to be better at saving my work, that is a given.

Adobe's updaters won't automatically close applications.
And Photoshop had not had any updates since June.

You need to figure out what killed the applications on your machine...

Adobe made me agree to a new terms and conditions when I opened it up again. And it's very possible I haven't closed the programs myself in a month or more. It wouldn't be the first time.

OK, that means that some of the activation information was lost or damaged.

Did your system reboot for an OS update? That might have forced the applications to close (and a normal quit would remove the autosave files).
