Photoshop: Erratic tool behavior when using Chrome (multiple tabs)

Photoshop becomes irratic when using Chrome browser with multiple tabs open.

I'm using OS 10.7.2, Quad-Core Intel Xeon - 8GB memory. The problem isn't a fixed one, as in, photoshop won't behave in the same way twice with this issue. I use Chrome to browse the web and naturally have multiple tabs open. However by having multiple tabs open some of photoshops (and sometimes illustrators) tools cease to function correctly. For example, it's not possible to press the space bar to quick select the hand tool. Or scaling in uniform becomes impossible, zooming in and out and moving gradients when applying blending effects stops. These are all rectified by closing down Chrome or reducing the number of tabs i have open.

This of course can be fixed by me switching browser, but I would like to see if there is a solution. Also I understand there are functions and key presses that may disable the functions i might be talking about but I am certain i have checked and double checked these and am clear of being stupid! (I hope)

Many thanks

If it's causing interference with 2 different applications (that don't share much code) - then that indicates a serious bug in the Chrome code and needs to be reported to Google so they can fix the bugs in Chrome.

It is unlikely that something like this could be addressed on the Photoshop or Illustrator side of things.
