Elements: PSE 2 iPhone 4s photo saving issues

I have been taking photos of my daughter with both my Iphone 3gs and my husband's 4s. Recently, when I go to save a photo after editing, it gives me the "can not save due to a program error" message. It only happens with the photos from the 4s, and it's not all of them, just a select few. I have some actions set for all the photos, so I'm not editing them any differently than the rest or trying to save them any differently from the rest. I can usually close the photo with the issue and edit/save some more.. so space isn't the issue. I haven't changed any settings in the program.

It won't let me save to any folder, or in any format. I tried jpeg, tiff, psd, and a couple others just to see if it would work. I tried closing and restarting my computer, but that didn't help. I even tried uninstalling and re-installing photoshop!

Hello Jenn

Just to be clear, which version of Photoshop are you using?

I'm using 7. I found that I can edit and save them in ImageReady, and then resave them as .jpgs in photoshop, but it's kind of a pain.

Probably a bug in reading the metadata from the original file, and the metadata changed with the phone or iOS version.

But Photoshop 7 is pretty old, and shouldn't be running too well on modern OS versions.

I have this problem too. Using Elements 2 and it seems perhaps that the update to the Iphone operating system on launch of the Iphone 5 might be the problem?
I have a 4S. Not all pictures are affected though even from the same batch

I have a similar problem. My old Elements 2.0 has no problems with photos taken with my compact camera or my Samsung Galaxy phone. The photos can be changed and saved. However, photos showing faces taken with my iPhone 5s can't be saved in PS2. But other photos from the same phone (e.g. landscapes) can be saved. Is this a "face recognition" related problem? What is the soultion?
