Hi

I have screenshotted some pictures from my Facebook account on to my ipad so that I can upload to my revel account but when I go to add them, the album on my ipad shows the correct number of photos but when I go in to the album from revel there isn't any photos there.

Are photos that have been screenshotted using an ipad/iPhone not valid for revel?

Thanks
Laura

Are the screenshots in JPEG format, or another image format?

Right now, Revel only works with JPEG images.

How would I know the file format?
I've used the ipad home screen button and the lock button on the top to screenshot the picture, I am therefore assuming these are not jpeg...
Is there anyway of converting images to jpeg?
Thanks
Laura

Hi Laura

If you are creating screenshots by tapping both the Home button and the Power button (i.e., the usual way on iPad and iPhone), these are created using the PNG file format. These PNG images are not compatible with Revel, which currently supports only JPG images.

If you want to save a photo from Facebook, doing a screen shot only gives you a low resolution copy of the photo. Instead of creating screen shots, try doing this in your Facebook app: press down on your friend or family's photo until the little menu pops up that says "Save Photo," "Share," "Report Abuse," and "Cancel." Choose "Save Photo" to get a much better version of the photo saved to your camera roll. Chances are, this will be a JPG image which you can then import into Revel.

Hope this helps a little!

Hi,

I took a screenshot from a video on my mac, converted it to JPG and uploaded it to revel. It said it successfully uploaded but when I refreshed the view I can't see the photo. Any idea what is happening?

Hi Peter

Since the first post was made here, we have added png support to revel, so you won't have to convert it anymore. My guess is that the jpg file you created may not have the proper date stamp. If this is the case, then scroll to the bottom of the library and you will likely see it with other files that don't have a current date. You can also login at adoberevel.com from a browser and click the icon on the top right to change the display to oldest first...that will show the ones without dates first. You might find your missing photo there.
