I have pse 9 0 3 installed on my Imac and it will not print an image to my Canon mx 885. All that happens is that the printer puts out a blank sheet.

I cannot even see an image when i select, 'Preview' in the print dialogue box.

I have to, 'Save as' in Photoshop to be able to print.
Can anyone help??

Are you printing from the Organizer or the Editor?

Does this happen for all images?

Do you have a preview inside the Elements print dialog?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I am trying to print from the Editor. It does occur for all images and yes, it occurs when using the, 'Preview' facility in inside the Elements dialogue box. ???

Do you get similar behavior when printing from the Organizer?

What are your Color Management settings (under the More Options button at the bottom)?

Hi,

I have never tried to print from, 'Organizer' and do not know how to !!!!!!!.

The settings in, 'Colour Management' are all ticked apart from the reverse T shirt option.

Printing from Organizer is the same as the Editor (or any other application really), File>Print. The difference is it will print all of the images you have selected.

Color management doesn't have any settings for reverse or anything of the like: it will have Color Handling (whether Photoshop Elements or your printer), the current color space used by the image, the profile you want to print with, and the rendering intent.

Are you printing directly to a t-shirt or is this some sort of iron-on?

Hi again,

My apologies, I totally misunderstood your last.

The Colour management settings I have are as follows.

Photoshop Elements manages colour
Camera RGB profile
Printer profile Adobe RGB 1998
Rendering Intent Relative Colourmetric.

I am not attempting to print direct to a T shirt and it is not an Iron on either. I am simply trying (but failing dismally) to print quite straightforwardly onto A4 plain paper.

Sorry to be a pain.

Sorry, I misinterpreted what you meant by the t-shirt remark. Have you tried printing without all of those options under "Printing Choices" unchecked? By default these should all be off.

Also, you can try changing the Color Management Color Handling setting to Printer Manages Color to see if that makes a difference.

Hi again Brett,

You are a star. I can now print directly from PSE 9 .

I cleared all the 'checked' options in 'Printing Choices' and set the 'Colour Management handling' to 'Printer manages colours'.

Thank you so much for your help.

That means that your printer driver has a bug when Photoshop is managing colors. You probably want to let Canon know about that so they can work on the driver code and release a fix.
