Photoshop CS6: Can't get LR integration to work in trial version

I currently have LR4, and Perfect Photo Suite 6 along with PSE 8. I've downloaded the trial version of CS6. I can't seem to integrate CS6 with LR or anything else. I know you get the splash screen asking if you want to continue the trial so I already have CS6 open and try to do an "edit in" action from Lightroom and CS6 opens but doesn't load the photo. Is integration disabled with CS6 trial version?

Check you've got the latest CS6 updates - particularly the ACR update. That's the most likely suspect. If that's not it, we'll need to know OS.

I did download the latest updates, ACR and there was one other. I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit. Thanks!

Hmmmm. Check this thread and see whether it sounds like the same issue: http://forums.adobe.com/message/45346...

I've read the thread but since this is a trial version I'm not really too keen about uninstalling and reinstalling etc. I didn't see that update that they were talking about anyway.
I definitely want to make sure that the full product will integrate with what I currently have although I thought the trial was the "full" product.
Is Adobe's support such that it would walk me through the issue should I decide to plank down almost $700 to purchase CS6?

The trial is the full product.

Did you also update Lightroom? (they had several bugs with external editors in LR4)

Thanks for the reply Chris. My Lightroom is completely up to date. It may have something to do with the Microsoft Framework and C++ installations. I have plenty of that stuff installed.

Give them a shot - they're usually pretty helpful on installation issues. If that doesn't do it, wander back this way and we'll try a few other options.

I'm totally frustrated with the inability to get any help from the Adobe or their forums. I keep getting a message that my account has been disabled? Anyway support just told me to visit the forum (http://forums.adobe.com/index.jspa) and that's proven impossible. I've tried with IE and Chrome but am not able to get through. This is becoming just stupid in my estimation. They want almost $700 for a product and don't offer any help...

I can understand your frustration John!

Ok, couple more questions:

1. Does LR see PS as the primary external editor?

2. If PS is closed, does the Edit in Photoshop open it?

3. If you use Edit in Photoshop, does it come up with a dialog that asks whether to open the original, open a copy without LR settings, open a copy with LR settings? And if so, do any of those options work?

4. If you open files from Bridge into Photoshop, does that work?

5. If you use Image Processor in Bridge (I think it's under the Tools > Photoshop menu, from memory), does that work? (Trying to rule out more general script issues)

Hi Victoria and thanks again for another reply!
I did update LR to see PS as the editor and created 2 edit profiles, one in 8 bit for TIFF and one in 16bit for PSD. I'm able to open any supported file with PS and work on it. I can't say for sure whether I can open a copy of with LR settings without being able to go from Lightroom - that is a preference I've set already. I can't say yet if bridge works, unless I don't understand Bridge, if I open up a raw (NEF) file it opens it with the raw editor. I can't answer all of your questions just now as I had to come into work for a few hours. I'll try the other options later when I get home.
I appreciate your help Victoria, I really would like to make the commitment to start using Photoshop as part of my workflow. Elements is wonderful but tedious with some of the work arounds.
Thanks again,
John

Victoria and Chris:
Okay, please don't ask me to explain this but the integration is working exactly as it should now. I had restarted after installing CS6 prior to having problems but when shutting down prior to leaving for work, Microsoft update installed a couple of updates which I thought nothing of.
Upon arriving home and starting up and loading Lightroom I attempted to edit in CS6 and to my amazement it happened as it was supposed to.
Again, thank you for your patience and help.
Whatever it was that cleared things up I'll take it!
Best regards,
John
