Integrate Lighrroom import better with OS X filesystem choices

Often when importing photos on OS X, I select photos from Dropbox, desktop, or other destinations. Invariably I'm presented with a Mac filesystem hierarchy that starts with my hard drive, requiring me to expand to users/me/whatever_folder. I'd prefer one that integrates with the Mac filesystem favorites somehow so I can just get to where I need to go with a single click the way I do with OS X dialog boxes and the Finder. I can handle the existing filesystem hierarchy, but it's a pain and I suspect for many users it's somewhat alien.

I'd find that useful too, but you know if you click the big button above the Source panel you can select Other Source to show the OS dialog.

I did not know that! I'd still like not to have to take the extra step but thanks for cluing me in.

I wonder how many people need to drill down through the filesystem hierarchy to other users? Would be nice not to have that clutter.

I too would find it useful. But in its absence, you can drag photos and folders to be imported from the Finder and drop them on the LR icon in the dock or on the open Library grid view. That will invoke Import with the photos pre-selected.
