I am running Photoshop CC 2014.1.0 (release 20140730.r,148 x64) on Windows 8.1 with an AMD quad core processor and AMD E1-2100 APU with AMD Radeon HD 8210 Graphics Card. I have installed the latest driver version, 13.152.0.0. When I activate puppet warp, the mesh appears over the image and I can place the first pin. However, when I go to add the second pin, Photoshop crashes. I have tried with on a new, blank file, with just a few lines on it, but, as soon as I place the first pin, the image disappears, and then, as soon as I click anywhere else in the image, Photoshop crashes.I have followed all the online advice about settings under the Preferences/Performance interface, but nothing fixes the problem. Can anyone please help?

What does the detailed crash report say? Check the windows system event viewer for the report.

I'm sorry, but am a dummy when it comes to these things. I have up the event viewer in Win 8.1, which is, for me, a bit dauntingly complex to work out. Could you lease just point me to exactly where I should be looking in the event viewer.

Thanks.

Have you tried switching the GPU settings from Advanced or Normal to Basic?  Does it still crash then?

Yes, tried all that ... more than once. No difference.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Photoshop: Crash every time I use Puppet Warp.

When ever I try and use puppet warp PS crashes. It lets me set the first pin, but if I try and place a second pin it crashes. I have updated my video drivers as well as uninstalled and reinstalled PS. for $30 a month it should freaking work. I shouldn't be having to figure out why a monthly subscription service isn't working!!!!! And what do I do to get a refund?

We've fixed an issue in Photoshop CC 19.1.3 where placing a pin on non-contiguous meshes crashes Photoshop. Let us know if you're still having a problem with crashing and puppet warp.

Photoshop took 4 years to fix this issue, @georg G - you even remember or bothered.
