Lightroom 5: Incorrect Metadata shown in Publish Update

I have an external publish service setup to a gallery on Smugmug. In this example, there are 12 images, lets call them A, B, C etc.

The images are published and then updates made via the metadata panel to the Title and Caption fields of photo A. When enter is pressed upon competing the edit, photo A is moved to the 'Modified Photos to Republish' window and the next image - Photo B - is marked as 'selected'. However the metadata displayed in the right panel still relates to photo A. It is necessary to select another photo (e.g. Photo C) and then reselect photo B in order to show the correct metadata for photo B.

LR5, OSX 10.8.4

A little more information: The image is moved to 'Modified' when the first field is updated, say by tabbing to the next field. The error is that the focus shifts to the next image, e.g. B, in the example above.

Once work is completed on the metadata of image A, clicking on image B (which already has the focus) does NOT bring up the metadata for image B - it remains on metadata for image A. It is necessary for the focus to be moved away from image B and then back again in order to see the correct metadata.
