Inconsistency in type color, color picker and property bar

Look at this picture:

I was trying to color the word "Dead" with a rose-reddish color that I use in other design elements and that I saved as a swatch. The colors in the red square do not match at all. There is no way for me to set the color to look right (like in the large color picker). I have some adjusments layers turned on in the screenshot, but the color does not look the same with them turned off either. And why is it grey in the property bar?

This seems strange...

What precise adjustments are you using? Can you turn them ALL off? What tool do you have active? Are you targeting a layer or a layer mask? What version of Windows are you running? Are your drivers all up-to-date?

That's at least a place to start...

There is a hue saturation adjustment and selective color adjustment layer active. When I turn them off the result looks different but still doesn't match the color picker. The property bar color picker stays unchanged too.

I am working with the type tool. (check my other bug reports to see why I don't use the paragraph and character styles features anymore)

Windows 7 x64

As for the drivers I haven't changed anything since cs5.

Well, if you'd like, we can set up a time and I can remotely diagnose your machine via a web-connection. I will follow up with a private email.

Thanks,
David
