What do you mean by "tool galleries"?

I mean that for most tools in the tool box, there is an arrow at the bottom right that should open a series of other tools. That's what I call the tool galleries. (What would be the proper name for those??) This function doesn't work anymore

Go into your OS settings, and make sure that the double click time/delay is not set to zero.

The flyouts are called "flyouts".

I think I found the help page that mislead you -- https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/usi... They're trying to say it has a gallery of examples of the tool being used, but is really poorly worded.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that this is in Windows7, not in Mac

Yes, I know from the symptom. See my previous reply on how to fix it.

You are right about the page where I got the word gallery.
"flyout" is a lot more poetic!
time/delay was not set to zero.

OK, then I don't know why they wouldn't be opening.
Something is modifying the mouse click events before they get to Photoshop.

Do you have a tablet, or a mouse with a custom driver?
Do you have any utilities installed that would modify mouse behavior?
