Elements 14: Why is the guided sections layout different? Is there a way to change it back to how it looked in the previous versions?

I am having trouble navigating with the new version of Elements in the guided section. It looks completely different. The quick and expert version are the same but I hate the guided layout. Is there any way to change the look to be able to navigate through the guided version the same?

To increase the scalability of Guided View, the entire view and interaction was redesigned. The earlier one small panel had no space left and hence it was nearly impossible to bring more effects without disrupting user experience. Through the new design you can view the before and after effect as well by hovering the preview thumbnail as well. Earlier unless you go into each guided edit, you would not know what effect would it give to your image.

There is no option to change the look and feel to go back to old version. Hope that helps!

Guided View has HUGE amounts of blank space and the before/after panels are useless when I can't see what they will do to my picture. Please let me place my little tiny picture from the photo bin to someplace where I can actually work on it in Guided View while looking at the options — instead of seeing what the options do to those useless pictures you show for examples. Thanks...

Very simple.
You are used to seeing an editing space surrounded with menus and tools.
The idea with 'Guided' edits is to show you way to get a given effect. For beginners it's common to illustrate the desired effect with an image.

So you are not in an editing space. You are in visual MENU, like with tablets and smartphones. The free space you see will perhaps be used for other effect categories. Once you click on one of those images (just like with touchscreens) you get your tools panel and editing space. No more clicks needed than with the old interface.

I understand what I'm seeing. I understand the idea. I understand it's a MENU. I know how to click and edit. I am saying I do not like it and want to return to a traditional MENU where I can edit without having to move back and forth. Nevertheless, thanks for taking the time for a condescending comment.

Agreed 100%. The new layout is terrible.
