I would lime to have the possibility to have a mask on an FX layer.

Let say i have to have a drop shadow on something like a branch.
The branch is in the foreground, but the drop shadow will also have an effetc on the background of the image.

A mask on the FX would avoid doing extra steps like:
Merge the fx and a copy of the layer used for the drop shadow.
Make invisible these last 2 layers
Erase a part of the resulting layer to match to the branch

Thabk you

Hi Martin-
What you're looking for might already be available. If you right click on a layer and Select Blending options... There is a check box that you can tick under the Advanced Blending heading "Layer Mask Hides Effects". This might achieve what you are looking for.
