Hi!.I think it would be very useful to manage color labels; create, delete, change color, allowing more than one label by file ... in bridge.I think it's an option that isn't correctly developed and that it needs a change in depth to better manage project files.I not think it's very hard to develop something. Thanks.

Actually you can create, delete and change color of label in bridge for each file. The only thing you can't do is to use more than one colour per one file. Explain please what you mean if I'm not right.

Hi.

Yes, all this is possible in each file but within very closed parameters. That's why I would like more flexibility. For example:

As far as I know you can't change the access of the keys and the first color is red. I would like to be able to assign, for example, Ctrl + 6 to green, not red. There are only five possible colors you can't add more or change them. For example to use a gray color. In certain projects the same file, (which can be .psd, ai.indd and .pdf) go through three revisions and even 4 at times.

Without being able to add more colors and I only have one free. If also some file is in standby or any other situation because I don't have more colors.

Yes, I try to control it with folders, renaming files, indicating versions. Adding metadata ... (is the theme of projects where no one heed basic rules) but visually things are always faster.

The only thing I ask for is more flexibility when adding and removing colors.

And since you mention it, if you could put as many tags to the same file, it would be great :D

I hope to have explained myself better.

If you are on Windows you can use Autohotkey

a) you can make it when you press Ctrl 9 (Blue) it triggers Ctrl 6 (Red), and other configurations within 4 colours

b) you can go step forward and involve Bridge Scripting, then you can call one of SIX colours by shortcut set by yourself (even not involving Ctrl key). Red, Yellow, Green, Blue which are by default bound to Ctrl (& number) keys and Puprle that is originally without option to assign by shortcut. Additionaly there is chance to have even White colour that's not accesible by user interference.

There is no possibility to have more than mentined colours, however you can do a trick and to visually have broad palette of colours you may combine colour with rating. For example you may use Red & 1 star for Photoshop, while Red & 2 stars for Ai. This way you have 4 (6) * 5 (6) combos so 20 - 36 in sum. I agree that would be understable only for you and you had to get used to it to read it in no time.

If there was possible to add more than one colour to one file I don't think there would be space around thumbnail to display it, or you have some idea how that could be resolved?

Certain options are possible, but I think they are intriguing and would prefer to be able to use native methods.

Currently more or less, I control it with a program called QTTabBar that adds functionality to the windows file explorer, such as tabs. And most importantly, it allows me to select background colors to be displayed in the file names.

But of course that only works if I use Windows Explorer, not when I use Bridge.

Regarding that accepts more colors of label ... just like you can activate the options that show the date of creation, dimensions and keyword could be put several colors. Currently they are shown as circles, so one next to another doesn't think it is a problem. That in the thumbnail view. In the window to see content as a detail, or in the list there is even more space.

I believe that the system could be improved, that is why I propose it. Of course I 'm not a programmer and I don't know how difficult it can be, but seeing the wonders they do, I do not think this will be a lot of work ... :)

Yes I also notieced they are now displayed as circles what I don't like as they are not so noticable like when beeing previously as bold underlines. Anyway that was my thought too now there could be more little circles, so your idea could be somehow realised to have multicolor.

The only what I would like to be changed is circle labels was moved to bottom of thumbnail (like underline labels were so far), because when you use small thumbnail the circle labels put in front of file names cut them that when you have many files with similar longer names you never know what file you are at the moment without additonal clicking it to see its full name in other panel.

This is easy to do, but not easy make them to do it ever - just look at what they did for better during last 10 years in range of Bridge :(
