Unable to add a new folder since the last update.
I had 4 folders of a);1900, b):4500, c):8100, and d):64 500 photos.
I had to add a fourth of 23,000 photos.
Blocking and loading the RAM of 23.6 giga bytes after 1h30.

I uninstalled Lightroom, deleted its catalog, rreinstalled

Same problem : loading ok of the folder a), then blocking as of the loading of the second folder b).

Has anyone had the same problems ?
Windows 7 pro 24 Gigabyte in RAM.

Thank you for your answers

A Preference File will survive an uninstall/reinstall.  To reset the preferences, close Lightroom. Hold down [Alt]+[Shift] and relaunch Lightroom. Overwrite the preference file when prompted.  Attempt your import again.
Does a reset preference file have any affect?

Yes - It's Ok -
Thank's for your quick answer.

But I think there was still a bug in this update !
I will again have to spend 24 hours to recharge my fund about 750 000 photos in Lightroom ...

Regards

Hello,
Yesterday I was able to add a folder, after making the [Alt]+[Shift], and create a new catalog (I had deleted the old one).

Today,
trying to add a other folder, Lightroom freezes again ('does not respond') with the same phenomenon of loading of RAM of infinite way.

I retried the [Alt]+[Shift], without success - same result.

Another possible procedure ?

Thanks for your help

Since your last preference file reset have you tried to create a new catalog and a add a folder to it to test it. I see you did that before and it stopped working. I am wondering if resetting the preference file - restarting your Mac and then creating a new catalog will function or not.

Another thing is possible. It could also be an issue with your user account. If you create an additional user on your Mac to test, does Lightroom function normally when logged in as the alternate user?

I do not want to spend time testing x solutions, while everything worked perfectly before.

I have the impression that the Adobe development team has changed is no longer making full testing before validating a new version.
I have the same disappointment with the new version of Dreamweaver, which forced me to go back to version CS5.5

It would be useful to provide the possibility to go back to an earlier version when one of your software is not working properly.

These are expensive monthly payments for a degraded service!

I'm running Windows 7pro, 64bit

My apologies, Norbert. I was trying to respond to your request for "Another possible procedure ?"

It is possible to install older versions of Lightroom. Any release version can be downloaded here. Another possible procedure ?

Any intermediate version can be obtained at this link: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-downloads.html

The Lightroom Queen has created this page to instruct you in how to do this.  https://www.lightroomqueen.com/roll-back-update-previous/

Please note. I haven't seen any reports describing your particular issue so we are trying to diagnose remotely.  Let me know how you would like to proceed.
