On my WinXP and Win7 boxes, if I watch the CPU and I/O meters during an import from a CF card, I see a burst of i/o for a file, then a burst of CPU to generate the preview, then a burst of i/o, then CPU, and so on. Each is idle while the other is working.
Why doesn't Lr saturate both so that copying the files and crunching the numbers gets done in parallel? Seems that would speed up imports immensely no?
