LIGHTROON: Import issue, unexpected folder placement in the catalog not on the disk (after install new OS)

Bug and found solution : Lightroom catalog path is case sensitive when windows path are not.

Problem occurred when changing the OS (Vista32bits to W8 preview64bits) I changed my user name from "jmd" (lower case) to "JMD" (Upper Case).

The effect on lightroom catalog:
Imported pictures sorted by date (ie 2012/10-21) are stored in the right existing folder(2012) and subfolder (10-21) created on disc. But in the catalog by files a new subfolder 2012/10-21 is created at the root of the main directory where the lightroom catalog is stored.

The clues:
Developing the full volume path shows that all the pictures and files from the former OS install are noted C:/users/jmd/.... while the new pictures are noted C:/users/JMD...

Create a new account as administrator then login with this new account (in safe mode to insure that the path under JMD is free) and rename JMD as jmd . No need to modify the registry since windows is not sensitive to letter case.

I do suggest to align lightroom with windows as far as letter case is concerned , it will avoid a lot of mess and unexpected trouble in the catalog for the users.
