Lightroom: Import/sync between LR CC and LR Classic

So what am I doing wrong? When I first installed LR CC all was well and sync happened just fine. However when I add new photos now not fine. If I just add them to a folder on my HDD and sync in LR Classic they import fine to LR Classic but don't show up in LR CC, if I import to LR CC alone they do not appear in LR Classic, if I sync folder in LR Classic and add to LR CC they get duplicated in LR Classic. What should I be doing?

Thanks

Go to https://lightroom.adobe.com

Are any of the images added and synced from the desktop on the web?

also it may be significant that when I check the 'Getting Started with Lightroom' arrow top left of LR Classic and 'sign in' I keep getting a dialog saying I am not connected to the internet, if you are reading this I am!! I assure you I am!!

Hi Dave,

Can you show us some screen shots of what you mean when it tells you you're not connected to the internet?

next time it occurs I will but I have made a further discovery. I put my photos in a location that is on Microsoft OneDrive. It is whilst OneDrive is syncing to the cloud LR says it cannot connect. I found that once OneDrive had synced LR would connect, however I don't have the best internet connection in the world so if I add say 500Mb of photos it can take several hours for OneDrive to sync, during which time LR seems to be doing strange sync things and is  failing to connect to the internet during this time.
