Lightroom Classic: Import photos issue since last update

Since last update, I've been having an annoying issue when I try to import photos from the camera memory.

Every time I open the import window it shows the memory as empty, and I have to either restart LR or cancel and restart the import process again.

System info: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit with the latest updates installed.
From where do I import the photos: From a memory card reader installed in my computer
Had this issue before: No

I've been having a similar issue that I've reported before and received no response. Maybe you'll have better luck. Mine occurs when I want to import from CF cards from two different cameras, containing shots taken on the same day. After importing one card, I rename the folder. When I try to import the second card (expecting it to create a new folder), import never begins and I have to close and reopen Lr. Also running Windows 10 Pro.

Greetings Erick,

Let's try resetting your preference file as a first step. Sometimes weird behavior is corrected/cured by resetting the preferences.

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.
2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
4. Close Lightroom.
5. Restart Lightroom.

Do you see your images on import after resetting the preferences?

Hey Erick, if I'm understanding your problem correctly, it sounds like you're running into a known issue that's described here - https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom-classic-7-3-import-problem

The workaround that's been working for me is to select your folder in the "Files" section in the Import dialog, instead of the "Devices" section.

Erick,
Please let us know if you have tried to import from the Card Reader displayed at the Files section, as explained above?

Thanks,
Sunil
