Lightroom: Import photos crash

Every time I try to import a photo to edit, Lightroom completely crashes. I try to import a few photos from my SD card. Lightroom will actually take in the photos and have them into library mode. The problem starts when I go to edit these photos. I try to click the develop tab and the program completely crashes. I re-open the program and none of the pictures are there. I repeat the process and so does the program. It is quite annoying and I cannot edit any of my photos.

Hi,
Could you please let us know the Lightroom version and operating system you use?
Have you tried to create a new catalog and edit images?

Thanks,
Sunil

This could be a problem with the OS, not LR, but we don't know what OS you are using so we can't help. If you use a Mac, I can make some suggestions.

Can you follow https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-gpu-faq.html to turn off the GPU acceleration from Lightroom's preference menu to see if it helps.
