LR Classic CC for the past 2-3 revs has been missing photos on my memory cards from both a Nikon D750 and Olympus OMD E1-Mark II.  Photos that are on the cards are NOT being correctly identified and imported.  Many images are being missed, requiring multiple imports.  I can simply never be sure at present whether the import routine is grabbing ALL the images on the card from a shoot or not.  This is absolutely reproducible and as I said, across cameras, cards and such.

The only thing I can do is to manually check the # of photos on the card, and if that # of photos is NOT the same as what's reported on the import dialog, I have to go back and re-do it to ensure I don't miss anything.

Short of manually moving the images from the card to the hard drive, and doing the import from the hard drive vs the import from the memeory card,s I'm losing confidence in this routine.

Please help w/ this!

Computer: iMac
OS: Mojave 10.14.4
Adobe Lightroom CC Classic version: 8.2.1 Camera Raw 11.2.1, build 120613

Cameras in use on SanDisk memory cards - Nikon D750, Olympus OM-D E1 Mark II, Nikon D300s

All cards from all cameras have same issue of photos being missed in import routine.

Incidentally, this problem is happening on both my Desktop and Laptop - thus I'm fairly sure it's a software issue, not a hardware issue.

Steven, I have the same problem.

Adobe Photoshop Lr Classic  8.3
macOS Mojave 10.14.4
Olympus E-M5II and Olympus E-M1
Satechi card reader and Apple card reader, both are good.
Pictures are .jpg

BEFORE:
I import pictures via a card reader. Pictures first go to Dropbox for a short period back up. After this I imported pictures to LR, where I had ticked "eject card after import".
After importing, I format the card in my camera.

CURRENT PROBLEM:
All has worked fine until I started noticing NOT ALL of my pictures were imported.

WHAT I DO NOW TO AVOID THE IMPORT BUG:
I have now un-ticked eject disk after import.
And repeat import in LR until all photos are in LR.
Importing to Dropbox has told me the number of images on the card.

To get ALL photos to LR, I now need to do the following to avoid losing pictures:
Firstly, I import card content to Dropbox, it gives me the number of how many pictures there are in the card.
Secondly, I import pictures (Copy) from Untitled disk to LR.
If not all were imported (I got the number from from the initial import to Dropbox), I will repeat the process, that is, I eject the card reader and re-connect it. Dropbox will say “no new pictures...”. But I will import pictures (Copy) from Untitled to LR.

THERE MUST BE A BETTER WAY TO AVOID THE IMPORT BUG - PLS ADVISE

Vous utilisez les mêmes cartes mémoires dans des appareil photo numériques de diverses marques.... Il est indispensable de les formater à chaque remplacement dans l'appareil photo, et ceci dans le boitier concerné.

You use the same memory cards in a digital camera of various brands... It is vital to format them to each replacement in the camera, and this in the case concerned. .

Does macOS Image Capture app see the files? I've seen cases in the past that I thought LR was to blame, but it turned out that the OS wasn't seeing the files even in Image Capture.

Infuriating!! It won’t recognize any of my cards. I had no problem before now.
