Image-Size Improvement based on Required Object-Size

I wrote in some Photoshop Forum about this Idea. I can't call it very useful for common Photoshop customer, but btw it's worthless option.

Sometime users must resize images not using its overall dimensions, but make some object in a photo with necessary dimension. For example - a man on a photo must be 7.5 centimeters height, or some other objects.

Instead of that most users try to guess required overall sizes, btw it's making with easy mathematical proportions calculation.

Required IMAGE Size = Required OBJECT Size*IMAGE Size We've Got/OBJECT Size We've Got.

It's simplest code ever =)

How it can implemented. If Program have SELECTION on image it must offer new flag in Standard Size Dialog - "Resize Selected Object", and than user can enter required width or height of object based on what size he needs, and what selection he made.

For example: head-size on a photo must be 24 centimeters height. We've got 16.5 object height and 34 centimeters overall image height. I make box-selection from "crown" to chin, than go to Size Image Dialog and select "Resize Selected Object" flag and enter new height parameter.

Calculation example x=24*34/16.5=49.45 - Required Overall Image Size.

It's easy in all ways. Of course it can implemented in more Interactive Way - with resizeble selection box and Option Panel like Crop Tool.

One could do that pretty much with a Script, I guess.
You could ask for advice on this over at

Like I said one could Script changing the image size based on numeric input for target measurement/s of a Selection (or Layer etc.), so it seems dubious whether Adobe would invest resources there.
