When downloading images your given the option to save to second drive. it would be nice if the files on the second drive were renamed and copied to a folder structure similar to your actual main drive.

Hi Chris, thanks for the prompt response.
This is a suggestion. Photoshop Lightroom has an option for downloading to a second drive. When I last tried it which was ages ago and maybe version 3, it seemed to only dump files on the second drive without the name change or folder hierarchy that is created in a persons main photo folders where the catalog points. What would be nice is if the second copy exactly mirrored the main photo collection. I also recently posted that saving checksums in metadata for all images not just DNG would be good.

The current design is the way it is so that it mimics more closely the state of the images as they come off the card before they are renamed and dispersed to folders. It isn't a true backup but rather a temporary second copy of the memory card that suffices until your routine backup has sufficiently duplicated your files.

Note that they are renamed, if you're renaming in the import dialog. But the folder structure doesn't match, of course.
