Photoshop CC 2017: Image breaks up when using raw filter (Win - graphics driver issue)

When editing Raw, TIFF and JPG images in the raw editor of PS, the image begins to break up after moving a couple or so adjustment sliders. The changes "take" and if the file is saved then viewed in PS it is intact and reflects the changes. My PS software is current (I reinstalled it hoping to correct the problem). My Nvidia graphics driver is current. Using Win 8.1, i7 processor, 32GB memory and 2T hard drive. Any help would be appreciated. I have a photo of the problem but can find no place here to attach it. Thanks.

JD,

You might want to check for this file on your PC %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\GPU\Camera Raw GPU Config.txt

In that file look for a line like:
  • crs:gpu_preferred_system="OpenGL"
If you find it change it to:
  • crs:gpu_preferred_system="DirectX"
You can edit the file with a plain text editor. Let us know if it solves your issue.
