My iMac hard drive crashed (was apparently recalled!) so I had it replaced. Restored system via time machine back up from external drive (drobo). Open up Lightroom 3.6, catalog is empty. Try to "import catalog" from my drobo, found LR folder from day before crash, select the file and it gives me error of "Can not import from this catalog at this time. The catalog is either in use by another copy of Lightroom or was closed improperly. If it was closed improperly, please consider doing an integrity check when opening"

If I try and open the file directly from the drobo it tells me: "The Lightroom catalog cannot be used because the parent folder “/Volumes/Drobo/Backups.backupdb/Allison McCafferty’s iMac/2013-01-31-004247/Macintosh HD/Users/allison/Pictures/Lightroom” does not allow files to be created within it.z'

So now what??

Probably easiest to stick to one thread at a time, but feel free to post back if you don't find a solution. http://forums.adobe.com/message/50607...
