Illustrator Paths to Photoshop

I know this isn't a new request, but with the advances with Photoshop shape layers, it seems that there would be a good way to import paths from Illustrator to Photoshop. When create a PSD document is used, it imports the IA's paths as raster images. You can copy and past a path, but if you want to import lots of path items from IA, it is very time consuming. There should be an import feature that allows you to import multiple path items from IA into PS as either shape items or just as regular path items.

this is a great feature request and has many, many votes from a person who imports Illustrator files in Photoshop and After Effects and these paths are a key factor so please consider this.

I'd love to import paths from Illustrator files as either Photoshop shape layers or photoshop paths. I can image an import dialog that allows you to choose these different options.
