Illogical scrolling of the left sidebar in Lightroom

I often encounter the problem that the left sidebar scrolls all the way to the top without any obvious purpose or input from me, which is at times disorienting and frustrating.
This happens right after:
- renaming a collection or collection set
- creating a collection with "include selected photos" off

This does not happen after:
- creating a collection set
- creating a collection with "include selected photos" on

In the latter cases the sidebar scrolls up until the created collection or collection set is at the very bottom of the list. This I find to be slightly disorienting as well. In my mind the sidebar should not move unless I manually scroll and any added collections or collection sets should simply push all items further down one row.

Maybe someone can confirm this behaviour. I have noticed it first in the lastest version of Lightroom 4 and it is still present after upgrading to 5. My operating System is Mac OS 10.9.5

I didn't confirm all behaviors mentioned, but in general: the left side does scroll way away when it loses it's place (win7).. - definitely room for improvement in my opinion.

I would say that's a Mac-only bug, as I see the behaviour on OSX, but do not see it on Windows (specifically there is no scrolling on the left-hand panel when creating a collection with "add selected photos" unchecked).
