Display "photo collection is in" appears in error

In the current version I have LR4 "Import from another catalog" according to many images in the thumbnail view the "photo collection is in" signs, although the photo is not available in any collection. The photo was probably the "Export as Catalog" on the PC where the previous run was in the Quick Collection. I have found no way to remove the mark, that the photo was in a collection.
I would be very grateful for a tip
Sincerely

If you klick on the little Icon it should show you the name of the collection. True or false

If true, what happens if you create a collection with that name?

Thank you for your assistance!

If I click the icon it says "nicht in Sammlungen", in English probably "not in a collection" (I use the German version). If I put the photo into a collection, everything seems OK, until I remove it again from this last collection. Normally the photo is then expected to be in no collection, but the small icon is still there, with the message given above.

Hallo Werner,

I tried to reproduce your problem but i was not able to do so.
What did I do.
1. created a collection (foobar) with 1 photo
2. exported that phot into a new catalog
3. removed collection
4. deleted photo from disk
5. imported catalog
6. clicked on the little Icon and the collection (foobar) was created and the photo had been added to my foobar collection.

I have no Idea what went wrong in your situation.

Thank you for your investigation. In my case it was the "Schnellsammlung" (Quick collection ?). I guess that the database keeps a counter of how may collections a photo belongs to. If, as in my case, this counter is wrongly >0 the small icon is shown. By the way I use Lightroom 4.3 on a MacBook Pro Retina 15" with Mountain Lion.

I hope that a SQL script could correct the mistake in the Lightroom catalogue, which I believe is based on SQLite, but good knowledge of the database structure would be needed to do this.
