I would love to see the following ideas be implemented into Adobe Revel:

1. Dissable the delete button in the settings menu. In case other family members use the same carroussel I would like to dissable an accidental deletion of pictures.

2. I would like to share a selection of pictures online. So that the recipient of my invitation can click a link and view the shared pictures online in a web browser in a nice gallery view (Without installing an app or logging into another website like facebook/flickr...). This could be realised by implementing a browser based access possibilty to Adobe Revel.

3. Please allow to view in grid view all the time not only when you are within an album. I would like to see my whole collection in grid view.

4. Zoom option while in grid view, so that one can see more pictures at the same time.

5. Within the iOS app: Export several pictures within an e-mail. At the moment I can share 1 picture via E-mail, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Flickr. I would like to have this possibilty for a selection of pictures as well. I'm aware that Facebook and Flickr sharing for more than 1 picture is already implemented. Please integrate the other options too.

7. In case pictures have Loctaion/ GPS infomration I would like to see them on a map view.

8. Tag pictures with several tags so that they can appear in more than 1 album.

9. Access my Adobe Revel library from within Photoshop / InDesign. (Both the online Revel collections and my stored ones on the Adobe Revel app in case I'm not online.)

10. The possibility to make only a few albums offline accessbile. In case more than 1 family member wants to access the library but doesn't want to keep the whole collection on his computer.

11. Access and update pictures Metadata/information.

12. And of course the previous mentioned integration into Lightroom with RAW support. So that my whole Lightroom collection is in sync with Adobe Revel within Lightroom itself.

I'm really enjoying Adobe Revel so far and I'm looking forward to the development your whole team is doing with it. Thank you very much and keep up the innovation and implementation of new features.

I totally agree on everything. Why not just add Revel's sync-features to Lightroom, and we wouldn't need Revel at all. Revel will of course be very good for sharing to people without Lightroom, but Adobe must realize that Revel and Lightroom can not be totally separate products.

Revel's carousels should be collections in LR with no sync required. They should access the same dataset.

Hi Kurka,

the integration in Lightroom would be really great (I really like the idea of LR collections = Revel carousels) but I think it should still be possible to access the carousels without Lightroom via the Mac/PC apps and mobile apps in addition to an online access as I would like to share the pictures (or some carousels) with my family as well and not all of them use Lightroom.

Please keep updating this promising looking picture cloud service!

Absolutely. The major problem with LR is that it does not include a viewer or a read-only mode (basically every key on the keyboard is a shortcut, so it's dangerous to put a non-LR user in front of LR to view pictures), so this is where Revel could come in very handy.

On my computer I would need only Revel, but as mentioned, either selected collections or my whole library should be available to other selected Revel users (both using the Revel apps and website). Some with read only and some can update (which includes be able to edit ALL metadata just like in LR) and edit photos. This changes are of course automatically reflected in the Revel cloud and in my LR library.
Adobe - you have to agree on this! :)

Thanks for the thoughtful and insightful feedback! There are certainly some appealing ideas. In case it's not obvious, the Revel team does follow these posts, and we appreciate it when people take time to share thoughts like this.

Revel is a consumer-oriented app, geared towards accessing one's images anywhere, editing, partnering with other users, sharing, etc. While Lightroom is appealing to many consumers, it's geared more towards professionals and enthusiasts. This isn't to say opportunities for better integration aren't worth discussing. Please keep the feedback coming!

I'll join in on this: in particular point 1, 2, 8 and 10 is high on my wish-list.

1.) The very least, there should be a passcode needed and three hard-to-reach steps before delete a carousel. I now have 15000+ photos in Revel, and the thought of my toddler deleting that by accident is a big concern.

2.) Would love to share an event with family who haven't got a mac nor iOS device.

8.) I really miss tags (as in Lightroom collections or Picasa Albums) to gather selected photos throughout a year, or photos we want to print etc. So one-to-many collections where a photo can be in several "groups"

10.) Not exactly the same, I want on my iPad and iPhone to mark some events that I want to show and edit offline.

Keep up the good work!

I am curious about how you are able to find certain photos in Revel among 15000 when there are no other organisation methods than browse by date. Do you have very many libraries? I have 1500 photos in one library and scrolling from top to bottom takes a little forever

Good wish list. I really want to stress the ability to be able to view and search photos based on EXIF data. I spend a considerable amount of time adding tags and location info to all my photos in Lightroom. I think it would be a valuable feature enhancement to be able to search based on EXIF tags. This is something the average consumer as well as the professional can appreciate. What parent wouldn't want to search and view all photos tagged with their kid's name or by location, say, DisneyWorld?

Don't intentionally cripple functionality and dumb-down the app too much. Even smartphone photographers need a way to retrieve and catalog.

Cheers

I completely agree with you, not having this is a deal breaker for me.

I think it's time for Adobe to give us some insight in the future for Revel regarding this. A photo management system without any searching and filtering functionality is like having a Word processor without search/replace. This is functionality that we shouldn't even have to ask for.

As Charlie said, the Revel team follows these forums closely and take all of your thoughts into consideration when deciding on the roadmap for the next versions of Revel. Thanks for your comments and please, keep them coming.

Hi Richard. My point is that there are quite obvious and important features that are missing, and since the current 1.5 version only added albums of the important features it makes makes me question the roadmap and priorities.

I have 3-4000 photos in Revel now, and already it is way too many for the application to handle in terms of how to find photos.

I'm evaluating Adobe Revel on Windows 8. Not even event tags are yet implemented. I like the service and user interface but there is no option how to properly tag and search for photos.

Does anyone know if they ever added tags?
