Lightroom: Full Catalogue List

I would really love for Lightroom to keep track, as in have a list of ALL of my catalogues not just the last 10 most recent. It would be great to click someplace and have the FULL Entire list of my catalogues so I can just scroll to the one i need and voila it opens instead of having to go to my hard drive find it in the catalogue list I have and then open it, I save mine all in the same place but even for those people that save them on separate hard drives it could remember them just like it does for the photos I save on different drives it just says ! above the photo cus the right drive is not connected but it remembers where the photo is so in the same way it could remember where the catalogue is as well.

I can in a day use way over the small 10 catalogues opened and closed and the long.... open the hard drive find my lightroom catalogue folder search for the one i need is starting to get tedious and it would save me TONS of time if there was a complete list of them.

if this happens to already exist or some plug in exists I dont know about it and would LOVE to so please inform me.

thanks

If you're on Mac, maybe set up a smart folder in Finder? Not sure if there's a Windows equivalent.

Your problem is really a symptom of ignoring that Lightroom works best with a single catalogue, not fragmenting control of your workflow across so many catalogues you struggle to keep track of them.

I am a full time photographer so I need to keep companies I work for and people separate and after thousands of photos Lightroom bogs :) sooo I make multiple catalogues I don't actually have trouble keeping track of my catalogues I just want to open them easier and faster for access ;)

You're probably going to have to use the smart folder suggestion.

Lots of full time photographers work just fine with a single catalogue. Fields like Job or Keywords can record the client name, and Export as Catalog can create a temporary single-client catalogue when needed for a viewing.

Good idea.

Although the "standard" advice is to keep everything in one catalog, and there are compelling reasons to do that, there are also (sometimes) compelling reasons not to, as you seem to be aware of.

Unfortunately, there is no support for it in Lightroom, nor any plugins I am aware of.

But if I were you, (and I was bouncing back and forth amongst the same set of catalogs all the time) I'd just maintain a list of catalog shortcuts in a directory of your choosing, then put the folder in the dock or taskbar, e.g.

To open a different catalog:
* Exit Lightroom
* Select the catalog you want to open.
